The braid in this design became widely recognized after a video circulated showing an act of violence against a Kurdish woman. What was intended to instill fear instead became a symbol of collective grief, remembrance, and resistance.

By reclaiming the braid, this design shifts the narrative away from brutality and toward dignity. It honors the lives affected, refuses silence, and transforms an image of harm into one of endurance and solidarity.
